Being a guitar player myself, I like trying out a guitar before buying it. Why? Well, simply because two guitars built in exactly the same way using the same tone-woods won’t sound exactly the same. That doesn’t mean that one guitar is better than the other, they are different.
I always keep one guitar of every model in stock. That way, you can at least have an idea of the differences in sound of certain combinations of tone-woods and backs.
If you decide you have found your perfect guitar, you can order me to build an exact copy of the guitar you just test-drived or you can order a guitar to your specifications. In both cases, the shape and the width of the neck will be customized to the size of your hand and your style of playing. Remember though that with different tone-woods, neck and back woods you will get a totally different guitar.
I require a €700 deposit at the time the order is placed. This locks in your price and locks in your place in the schedule. As my yearly production is limited, all due dates are approximate. The deposit price is for purchase of a spot on the build list. Note that extravagant specifications and special high figured backs and sides will require a higher deposit.
I expect you to test and collect the finished guitar at my shop in person.
If the guitar is not up to your expectations and the guitar you ordered is an exact copy of one of my stock models, you can reclaim your deposit. If, however, the guitar was build according to your specifications, the deposit will only be refunded in full upon sale to another customer. Non-standard scale lengths are considered as a special order.
If you can not collect the guitar in person, I will contact you the moment the guitar is finished. At that time I will discuss shipping and insurance with you. Upon receiving the full balance and all shipping and insurance costs by check or money transfer, I will ship the guitar. If the guitar is not up to your expectations, you have seven days after receiving the guitar in which to return it. You will pay the return shipping and insurance costs. If the guitar you ordered is an exact copy of one of my stock models and I receive the guitar in the condition in which I shipped it, I will refund your full purchase price, less shipping and insurance costs. If, however, the guitar was build according to your specifications, the purchase price, less shipping and insurance costs will only be refunded in full upon sale to another customer. Non-standard scale lengths are considered as a special order. If there is wear or damage, I will deduct what I estimate to be the value of repairing and restoring the instrument to its new condition.
Note that a new guitar needs at least half a year to “open up”.
Due to changes in humidity and a natural setting-in of the guitar, it is to be expected that the attack of the guitar will have to be adjusted. I will perform any fine-tuning necessary at no additional charges within the first year provided you are the original owner and the guitar was not modified by anyone else. If you can’t bring in the guitar in person, you must take care of the shipping and insurance yourself.
All guitars have a lifetime guarantee to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship (see
First User Lifetime Warranty).
